I only came across this on listening to the BBC review of Oscar winners that I placed link to in previous comment and so just had to comment on.
This is such a wonderful film that I am so pleased to say is so plain to see why it was so successful at the time. Can just picture my grandparents heading along to the theatre to see this in the day and enjoyed watching this now with my wife and daughters some 85 years later. “Clark who?” one of my daughters would have asked before we sat down to watch this. “Aye, Clark Gable, Hollywood Legend for sure!” after watching.
