The Story of O ҒսІІ моѵіе
Rene takes his lover, the photographer O, to a manor in the isolated area of Roissy to be submitted to humiliations, bondage, and sexual perversions to prove that she belongs to him. O spends several days being sexually abused by several men and whipped until she is ready to return to Rene. Then he shares O with his older step-brother Sir Stephen until Rene finally gives O to him. Meanwhile, O and Sir Stephen fall in love with each other.
LegendOfBillyJean: The author of 50 Shades of Grey was definitely a fan of this movie!
Jon Dunmore: +Legendofbillyjean -- You mean Fifty Shades Of Vanilla.
The Story of O ҒսІІ моѵіе
David Smith: She was absolutely gorgeous! I watched this movie for the first time on the Playboy channel in 1982. I was 15 years old and watched it through three squiggly lines.
Johnny Cade: Seem to recall the lady who plays O later went on to become a bond girl
Firespawn: Cathy, thank you so much.
I've been studying the fashion in this film. I'm very intrigued with how they had Corrine Clery dress; somehow for 40's-70s fashion style, retro and vintage, I understand it as being a very modest way of dressing but the fashion style they had Corrine Clery dress in is sexually-charged, it's one of the things that stands out the most to me when I watch this film, I wish I could.
I've been studying it—Corrine Cléry steals the movie for me. Haunting Histoire d'O, to me she is O in this film. Even just in dress, she says much about this character. She’s created a fashion sense for O, managing to dress in a way that is modest yet at the same time alluring/sexy. I’ve been trying to find that vintage fashion they used in this film to reflect those two most desirable sides of a woman.
lavendelfields: My dear Cathy thank you for this beautiful video I love it THanK YOU for share and posting this JEWEL my dearest One, thank you for the beautiful time to look this Amazing video wish you to have a great week filled with happiness and joy,
Love from Janine.
ZUZANNA MUSIAL: Dear Cathy I did see more of the original film but your is with much more flavor to it it is romantic and gentle. I adore your version...Thank you, Cathy...Thumbs up!
You have chosen the perfect song that makes a difference too...Love - Beautiful...Zuzanna
Firespawn: Thank you! While I would agree that true sexuality isn’t obvious vulgar, that there is a mystique. But God knows Corrine Cléry wasn’t shy about her body in Histoire d’O. Without any vulgarity she goes beyond any sexually explicit conduct, which is why her fashion style fascinates me.I’ve been looking into the vintage retro to find something in the spirit of O’s modest sexuality.
RenaissanceTheMan: The video is brilliant Cathy! I have seen it already many many times and always get some positive supply of energy! It's a real miracle how you do it! Cathy, I want to wish you much love in your life, much happiness, and joy! Happy St. Valentines! I wish you be happy always!
Ah, and I like the end of the video, and how you didn't burn his hand with Havana cigar! You are very kind!;)
Blueeyed40: Btw, we have no "mademoiselle" (mesdemoiselles) anymore in France! At least officially. Unmarried women think that it's not fair that they are called "mademoiselles" while married is always "Madames", they think it disrespectfully towards the unmarried woman to mark then as unmarried all the time. So officially we have no word "mademoiselle" in documents anymore, including the column with "nom de jeune fille" ("maiden name"). Now it's called just "nom de famille" ("family name") instead "maiden".
Blueeyed40: That makes me proud of being French! :)
In my opinion, any man who is seriously in love with the woman becomes Gentleman, this or that way. I guess there are not so many men who are real Gentlemen from the start, by nature and background, only the ones who were lucky enough to born in a right family or to live in right conditions, be in the right social medium and so on. Others become Gentlemen after they come to know what is it to love a woman.
RenaissanceTheMan: I agree that man becomes a Man with a decent woman beside him..or even when he is around the one. They say there is always a great woman where is a great man or so, some saying like that...I think when a man sees a real lady, a decent woman, he becomes a gentleman at once, he is ready for everything she wants..and he ready to please her. That's why so many guys are always around a real Lady. I think so.
Aquariel Charm: That is so nice Cathy but I don't want you to get a strike. I wouldn't upload on your two main channels either. I checked with Amazon, they have the book but not the movie. Another problem is getting it in English or subtitled or in Spanish if need be, lol. I do have an account with Dropbox and send space when musicians send me entire albums there and it's free. I'll leave it to destiny - someday I will see this movie. Do you see what you do? You make us crazy for Udo, haha lol. Much Love, AC.
~MultiCathyU ~ Cathy Arc~: Well, the fashion style of The Story is rather eclectic. The book was published in 1954, the film released in 1975..but it isn't kept in one style. The dresses of people in Roissy remind of 19 century, the retro cars remind the 50s while some other things are ultra-modern even for 70s, e.g. the futuristic René's apartments!:)) The men dress outside of Roissy mostly belong to 70s...while the dresses of O vary in style from 40s to 70s, and I'd likely determinate it as RETRO style or VINTAGE.
Yes, the style of O is simple/modest but, at the same time, sexy/alluring what perfectly reflects the essence of her personage. The character and position of O vary from naivety & obedience of a little girl to independence & mature wisdom of mistress; and are in the making and evolution from a victim/slave of painful love and affection to René... right to a lady master, belle of a ball and queen of Sir Stephen's heart. It's a very difficult role.. but Corinne Cléry has played it perfectly well!
I think feminists it's the same that men-chauvinists, they coast each other! the same stupid complexes out of nothing. As I understand, feminists refuse love to a man...while a one who refuses love (consciously) impoverishes him/herself and refuses the beauty of life. Love is the only what could make us happy on Earth.
~MultiCathyU ~ Cathy Arc~: I would agree, Corinne Cléry made the movie like a girl makes a dress!:))..actually, she made the dresses too!;)) I like it when a girl doesn't need to dress as a stripper to be sexy. The sexiest women never show their body & sexuality too openly, like the most sexually strong men of high potency never cry about it loudly. I believe that to dress showy-vulgarly is not any clever sexually explicit conduct when it comes to a lady. Mystique and hidden fascination&charm, that's what really works!
